Learning the Art of Balancing Life!!
I'm back as a working women again after a long break. Amma shuttles between native (Kavindapadi) and Coimbatore every week. She is at native on weekends and at our place on weekdays. Kids have somehow got adjusted to this big change. Once I'm back home, Arnav gives a big smile and jumps to me. But when I'm not there, he doesn't mind much. He is happy with his grandma. Initially, it was difficult without a good helper. But now we have got one and she seems to be the best. Hope she continues her work with us. It was so tough to get one. Missing Bangalore for this. But unlike Bangalore, travel isn't bad. I stay around 5 kms away from office & travel takes less than 10 minutes.
Work is going to get hectic in few days is what I hear from colleagues. Whatever it is, I have to be back home atleast by evening. Only then, I can hear school stories from Akil, spend some time with Arnav and give some rest to amma. I should balance work and home and wish to be a jack in both, if not master. Speedy career growth has taken a back seat.
One question that I face frequently now is, "Are u missing ur kids?", "Are u feeling guilty to leave them?". My answer would be "No". They are in safe hands and amma takes care much better than me. I feel guilty only to get so much of work from amma at this age. Its actually very difficult for her to take care of these naughty brats. But mom & dad are in a way happy that I have got back to work. They never want me to sit at home and just be a homemaker. If not job, they want me to do something else and keep myself occupied. Dad travels to Coimbatore every Friday and both of them go back to native on the same day. Travle is less than 2 hours. On Monday morning, amma is back but travels by local commute (bus). They have to do this until Arnav goes to school.
