Happy Women's Day
"Happy Women's Day" to all the wonderful women in the world.
Remember an argument that happened when we just stepped into software industry. I and my best friend, who now stays @ Chicago, did a project at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to complete our MCA degree. We were just interns and not employed at that time. And women's day was celebrated in a grand way at TCS. We were given some gifts and a red rose to rejoice it. For us, it was very new. At that time, we looked at the Project, Project Lead, Software and the industry itself to be something thats not going to be easily reachable by us and found it to be really gigantic.
Our lead asked us: Do you think a women's day is really required?
We said: Yes, of course...
He asked: Do you think women are equal to men?
We said: Yes, of course. Most of the women are indulging themselves in all the work that men do and this percentage of women working will keep growing and reach 100% some day.
He said: If so, why should a separate day for women celebrated? When a Men's day is not celebrated and when women are equal to men, why should it be celebrated.
We bewildered and believed he was correct.
Off late, I realised the greatness of women and that our thoughts were wrong. Women are really special. Pregnancy, giving brith to baby, understanding the new family members and beyond everything managing home and work really well. For housewives, things are even more difficult. It becomes worser when men don't understand the greatness of women and want to treat them as slaves.

"The idea of perfect womanhood is perfect independence."
Tamil poet Bharathiar had written a book named "Bharathi kanda pudumai pen" (Modern woman of Bharathiyar's thoughts) -- wonderful work on how women should be treated.
Hope world changes some day and respects womenhood to the fullest and gives her freedom of thought."Hats off to all the women who break all the hurdles in their life and shine as stars in this beautiful world."
