Wanderers!!

Most of us in software industry can best suit ourselves with this term – Wanderers! To the least, it best suits me & my hubby L. We got married in the year 2005 through arranged marriage (that’s the term used in India when bride, groom and match fixing between them is decided by our parents). We rented out an individual house at a place named Annasandrapalya (House 1) at Bangalore. Both of us were so called "software engineers" and L decided to choose a home nearer to my office. We never realized the distance to his office when we took this home. After 6 months, we realized that it’s too much of travel for L and also that it wasn’t safe for me to stay alone late night in that house. We shifted from there to Ejipura area (House 2) which was in between both of our offices. We stayed here for about a year and then, I shifted my job. I took a job with onsite offer and traveled to Singapore. At the same time, L got an onsite offer and traveled to Nigeria. Traveling to onsite was a need to survive in the software industry is what our minds said. Again a mistake! We stayed apart for about 6 months and returned back to Bangalore. Now, we started to hunt for house again. We took a home at Koramangala (House 3) which was reasonable the best suited place for our travel. L shifted job to Whitefield area in Bangalore and traveling the distance between Koramangala and Whitefield in Bangalore traffic was close to impossible. Again, we shifted to a place in between both of our offices and this time, the area was Marthahalli (House 4). This is where I conceived Akil and one of the excellent houses we ever stayed. But doctor advised us to take a house in a walk able distance to office as travel was not advisable for my health. Shifted house to Domlur (House 5). After Akil was born, I stayed at mom’s place for about 7 months. This time, L moved to a smaller house as rent was too expensive in house 5. I quit my job and when I joined L with Akil, we moved into BTM area (House 6) which was closer to L’s office. After a year, I hunted for job and got one. We again changed house to Ejipura (House 7) and then again to a wonderful apartment at Koramangala (House 8). After about a year at Koramangala, came the big move.

We moved from Bangalore to Coimbatore. We have been in Coimbatore in the same house for about 4 years now. This was kind of an achievement for us. We purchased a flat and thought that this is the city we are going to be settled. But now, we are relocating again. This time to another country! L has already traveled to Washington DC and has started off with his work. I & kids should join him by August.  This also answers my query to my previous post – quit my job. But has raised many other queries, mainly on kid’s education: how best the new place is going to suit them, how long are we going to be there. In case we are returning back to India, how are they going to cope up with the languages and so on? For now we have thought that we should return back in 2 years to Coimbatore but don’t know if our plans will work. Only time has an answer! For now, we are wandering to United States of America shortly!
