Ammayi & Appuchi's B'day

Ammayi & appuchi - These are Tamil words and may look new to many tamilians itself. It's a slang used to call maternal grandmother (ammayi) and maternal grandfather (appuchi) in Coimbatore region of Tamil Nadu, India. It was my parent's birthday and I usually stop just by wishing them. This time, Akil asked for a treat from them. He also told me that we have to decorate the home and do a cake cut. I gave a weird look at him. Decos.. not me!!! Appa was overwhelmed with the way Akil wished and he said that we should go for a dinner. He came from native on that week's Friday and we went out for dinner. Made sure there is a cake cut. :) The residency hotel people generously sponsored the cake. A post to mark my parents birthday, the most wonderful relation in anyone's life. I have always felt very lucky to have such magnificent parents!
