Blessed with 2nd baby boy :-)
We were blessed with baby boy on "8th March 2013". I started writing this post two months back but didn't get the right time to finish it. The due date was in the last week of May but he was in a hurry to see the world. He was born during my 29th week of pregnancy. Pregnancy cycle is usually 40 weeks. If the baby is born after 36 weeks, he is considered normal but otherwise pre-mature. It was deducted at the beginning of 5th month of pregnancy that my placenta is low lying and doctor advised me to be on rest. If the placenta is low lying, there are chances of earlier delivery. But in most cases, the placenta moves up and doesn't cause any issues. In my next scan after a month, it showed that placenta is towards the side of sac and it will move up soon. I was so happy to move out of home after two months of arrest. On March 2nd 2013, I traveled to Akil's school which was only 6 kms away from home. It was annual day at school and Akil was getting ready for his first stage show. Like any mom, anxiety pored in me that I went and watched his awesome performance.
On 4th March 2013 (Monday), my health went on a toss and that was nearing the end of road for my pregnancy. Doctor was not sure what could have caused this. Neither did she blame my travel nor me. I was then on complete bed rest at the hospital for 5 days and those were the most miserable days of life. But my little one didn't want me to suffer anymore. :) On 8th March 2013 early morning or midnight (1 AM), 'the pain' reached its height and they did an emergency c-section and little one came out at 1:46 AM. He is slowly becoming healthier and stronger.
Akil just pores his love on brother. He wants to keep his brother on lap, doesn't want him to sleep, wants to take bath for him, keeps pampering and pleases his lovely sibling with the caring words he knows. If baby cries, Akil would say, "ennada kutti thangam... azhuga venda... akil anna irukaenla" (those words in tamil). But one has to always keep a watch on Akil as he doesn't know the ways to handle the younger one. We suggested a list of names to Akil to name his younger brother & Akil chose the name "ARNAV". It's all boys in the family and I'm going to enjoy it. This also calls for change in blog name "akilmom" which I will soon do. :)
