Akil's 3rd Birthday
Every time when I think of his birthday, the first thing that strikes me is to order his favorite shape for the cake. Last year, it was cars-mania. Wherever Akil goes, he wanted cars in both the hands and will find ways to carry some more. And also it was the time when Disney cars movie was released and he was crazy for McQueen cars. For me, it was easy to finalize a shape for the cake. This year, I was sure that wild animals are his favorite but couldn't find a good pic in the cake shops over here. Missed Bangalore while choosing. His next craze is for the super hero's (Spider man, Bat man, Super man and goes on). He often calls himself as a Spider man and gives one such name to his friends at school. So, finalized the cake shape as Spider man and it came out pretty well.
To surprise Akil, I and L decorated the home with lot of balloons, colour papers and captions. As a payment for the hard work, Akil was really surprised as soon as he got up and he was too happy to see the home and that it's his birthday :). Third birthday is special in a way as kids understand it and feel that they are special.
It was holiday at school for Janmasthami. We started off the day by visiting Vinayagar (Ganapathy) temple close by. Initial plan was to visit ISKCON but time didn't permit us. We did ISKCON visit on the next day :). My in-law's (Mother-In-Law, Father-In-Law, Sister-In-Law, Sister-In-Law's son Surya) had come home. During the cake cut, two of other relatives (Ravi & Shankar) had also joined us. They are my co-sister's brothers. They bought a remote control car as birthday gift. Akil super liked it that he is not ready to get away from it for the past one week. I always want to invite lot of kids for his birthday but couldn't do it. Some or the other incident occurs and it has never turned out to be so.
We went to a good restaurant for lunch and spent the rest of the day in a shopping mall. Akil had great time by playing with the toys and stuff at "Fun City". It was a super cool day for him!
