Gemini Circus

Akil's recent craze is on animals. He makes all the sound's of animals, says few words like cat, cow, goat and dog. Having this in mind, we thought of spending the weekend either by visiting the circus or by travelling to Bannerghatta zoo. We had Logu's friend's family (Bala anna, Sugi & Aadesh kutti) visiting us in the weekend. And all of us together zeroed it to "Gemini Circus".

I have watched circus once when I was really small. I rarely remember the activities in the circus but major attractions those days were lion getting into a circle with fire, man putting his head into tiger and so on. With these expectations, we went to see the circus. The animals that was present were elephants, horse, dogs, parrots, camels & hypopotammus. Heard that lions & tigers are banned to be part of circuses. It's easy to write a review about the circus but one should also think of the efforts that has been made by the participants. Some of them were mind blowing. They have taken great interest in putting the set, training the animals and training the participants as well. All the participants have great stamina and when I think of the activities performed by them, I am in no position to even comment on them. Most of them were from the eastern part of India & Nepal. There was also a troop from Africa and they had also performed well.

Attractions in this circus by animals were elephant doing a pooja for Shiva, elephant playing cricket, dancing, elephant being a doctor and putting injections, parrot riding a cycle, dogs gettings into a circle, women dancing on a running horse. The other attractions was girls doing a lot of tricks with cycle, with a saree that was tied to the top of the huge roof, bike stunts, stunst by the troops from Africa - they climbed a huge stick and performed some stunts, danced to the tune of waka waka with their own stunts, etc. Item's that was a flop are tricks by a guy playing with 3 balls by throwing all 3 faster and catching them one by one. He missed it multiple times and jokes that was done by jokers were so boring. Maybe kids of 6 or 7 year old will enjoy. Akil & Aadesh enjoyed all the activities by animals. Akil was continuosly looking at screen backside to see if any animals come out. They simply made camel and hypo walk to the front. They didnt do any stunts. Maybe it's not possible to train them. The show was for 2 and 1/2 hours and it made Akil restless at some points but they kept animal shows at regular intervals which made his energy prolong.

The ticket cost starts from 50 to 300 (it keeps increasing by 100). We opted for 300 and so, got the seats closer to the stage. Overall, the management of the show has done a good job.
