Wedding Season

March 6 & 7 weekend was with lot of weddings at my native. We chose two of them who are very close to us as a family and Akil was with us at both the places. To my surprise, he was neither naggy nor fuzzy. In fact, he enjoyed himself seeing the huge crowd and of course, the decorations. The first one was my cousin Priya's wedding. It happened at MLR wedding hall at Perumanalure which is quite close to Coimbatore in TN. Two days prior, there was a mehendi function which is not part of our custom but they had it just for the fun of it. It was too good with all ladies gathering together. We belong to the caste "Kongu Vellalar Goundar" and her wedding took place as per the tradition. There were so many functions before the wedding and all of them were remarkable. Everything was so grand and so good to look at. The couple's parents have put in lot of efforts. By tradition, goundar weddings are done by someone named "Arumbukkarar" but these days,  it's getting difficult to find a good arumbukkarar. So, the actual wedding alone didn't happen as per the tradition, instead it was done by the Iyers (who do pooja's in Sivan temple). We had a great time. Akil was all excited that he stayed late night to see the functions and also got up early for the wedding on the next day. Wedding was at 7:30 AM but the marriage hall was 1 hour drive from our house, so we had to wake up much earlier.

The next wedding was my co-sister's brother Ravi's. He is also very close to our family. His reception was in the evening on the same day & wedding was on the next day(March 8th). This wedding hall was close to our house and hence we didn't have issues with traveling. The arrangements were awesome. Akil couldn't accompany us in the night as he was so tired and kept on sleeping from noon. But the next day morning, he was in full josh to were new dresses and was all set for the wedding. This wedding was also done by the Iyer's. It's so good to see our relations all in one place. My parents, in-law's were all here. On the whole, this trip to native was too hectic and kept us busy but this was the trip, we enjoyed so much!

After wedding, life changes a lot.
Everything would seem to be new and different but still so good.

Wish both the wedded couples a very happy and prosperous life!!!
