Vegetable idli/ Dosa Recipe
This recipe was given by my mom which is one of my favourites.
Ingredients
Idli/Dosa Batter
Grated carrot
Grated cabbage
Onion
Idli Podi - 2 tablespoon
Corriander powder - 1 tablespoon
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Procedure
Heat oil in pan and add mustard seeds, onions, grated carrot, grated cabbage and mix well. To this add corriander powder and idli podi and then, salt to taste.
Add the above mixture to dosa/idli batter and mix them well. With this, make vegetable idli or dosa as we prepare oridinary dosa or idli
I tried this recipe few days back and got good applause and thats the reason for posting it here...
Idli Podi
This is readily available in all departmental stores. For those who prefer home made one's... here u go...
Ingredients
Kadalai Paruppu (Bengal gram) -- 250 gms
Ulutham Paruppu (Black Gram or Urad dhal) -- 200 gms
Red chilli - 6 nos
Preparation
Fry each of the above ingredients separately nicely in a frying pan without oil
After frying, grind each of them separately in a mixie. Grind it to nice powder.
Then, mix all the three ingredients and add salt to taste.
